Mechanical Engineer

Job Overview


We are looking for a unique, creative, and curious thinker Mechanical Engineer who has the passion or interest in consumer appliances and redefining its overall traditional concept, experience and functionality. A successful candidate thrives in an environment that requires strong problem-solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. This position requires a candidate to be able to take a project from the conceptual stage through to completion, taking into account budgeting and operational considerations. 


Responsibilities


  • Knowledge and experience with various mechanical manufacturing processes

  • Familiar with plastic part design

  • Knowledge and experience of both Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) techniques

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports

  • Collaborate with overseas engineers and the R&D team to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information

  • Research and analyze design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.

  • Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.

  • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.

  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to QA and Testers.

  • Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products, using drafting tools or computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software.

  • Provide feedback to design engineers on customer problems and needs.

  • Conduct research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components and systems.

  • Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of modification.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, such as the ability to establish root cause and develop, test, and implement solutions

  • Solicit new business and provide technical customer service.

  • Write performance requirements for product development or engineering projects.

  • Frequent travel to manufactures and global offices may be required

  • Able to work in global cross functional teams

  • Ability to execute multiple, simultaneous projects to schedule and work independently


Qualifications


  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)

  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferred in consumer home or kitchen appliances

  • Knowledge in manufacturing process

  • Strong knowledge in AutoCAD/SolidWorks software and drafting procedures

  • Mechanical 3D CAD ability

  • Knowledge of 3D printing technology to generate parts for evaluation is a plus

  • Highly collaborative and excellent teamwork skills

  • Must be a detail minded professional who can manage multiple types of projects.

  • Excellent prioritization and project development skills

  • Proficiency with hand tools
